Shoes
Believe it or not it’s time to think about next season. That’s right, mentally put those sandals away for now and get your feet ready for fall. Bold designs are going to be hot and these Glory Chen “Lubaling” booties are perfect. The black and white geometric patterns are a flashback to the 1960′s. They would look striking with colorful tights and a skirt. These mod booties are $398 at Clementine.

On my annual quest for new spring shoes I came across these caramel patent leather Joy Chen heels at Clementine. The linen-wrapping on the heel and on the bottom help to give these shoes a casual look, while the patent and tortoise shell buckle dress them up a bit. You could wear these with just about anything. They cost $188.

New York is a fabulous city! My husband and I spent most of this week there and had a great time. We stayed right around the corner from Grand Central Station and walked nearly all of Manhattan. This season is the perfect time to go to NYC – one, because it’s sunny and 70. Two, because flats are stylish. I know the second thing seems a bit silly, but honestly, walking all over town in heels really stinks. I absolutely refuse to do the tennis shoes & jeans thing even though they are more comfortable. Posh on Main has some great new Lanvin ballet flats in that are perfect for fall. A new shipment of black, brown and blue patent are now in stock. These go for $470.

I have a thing for shoes… and… um boots. Sometimes it takes everything in me to not buy a pair. I can justify any purchase. Whether it’s to match an outfit, splurge after the last raise, or maybe just because it’s raining. All purchases are justifiable. (I’m sure you can relate). This past week I went into the new Fremont shoe boutique Lambs Ear that’s hidden inside the same building as The Industry. The selection isn’t huge, but that didn’t seem to matter, I instantly fell in love with these wonderful, beautiful white Loeffler Randall leather boots. (They also come in black and camel). My wedding is in 18 days. I’ve promised my betrothed that I’ll be good and not make crazy purchases, so I didn’t buy them. Maybe in 23 days I’ll be back. They cost $595.

There’s just something about red shoes that makes me smile. Maybe it’s the way I immediately feel sexy when I put on a pair, or maybe it’s the confidence I see in other women as they strut down the street. That’s why these Guiseppe Zanotti’s caught my eye. Red patent leather with a gold buckle!!?!? Be still my heart. I. Must. Have. These. Of course my fiance might not appreciate me spending $520 just 37 days before our wedding, so I’m going to hold out a bit. But you shouldn’t. Go splurge on yourself. You deserve sexy red shoes.

There are few things I hate in life, but one of them is finding a great pair of shoes that I can’t afford. Of course I try to justify the purchase by explaining to myself that if I wear them 20 times it will break down to only $15 a wearing. Or if I skip my daily mocha for a month I’ll come out even. Welcome Clementine — the newest shoe store in West Seattle, and a great place to find unique shoes without taking out a second mortgage. Linda, the owner, had a great vision for the perfect shoe store — carry an ecclectic array of shoes and make sure the customer has fun shopping. I love these round, toe green, patent leather platform heels by Diba. They’re only $78.

On my quest for the perfect brown shoe I found this pair of Tentazione heels at Dream in Fremont. The Italian leather has a great worn look about it and is definitely durable enough for my lifestyle. The round toe and brushed gold buckle are the main reasons why I was instantly drawn. They’re great with jeans or that new plaid skirt. This pair sells for $262.

Who knew architects could be so hip? Medium, a group of design-based architects, has come out with a new line of men’s shoes that are perfect for Seattle. Check out these canvas Oxfords. The Casualist, as they call them, has a somewhat weathered look with leather laces for those, well, casual days. I found these while perusing the Re-soul website. Check with the store for pricing.

Every girl I know has a closet full of shoes but can never find the right shoe for (fill in the occassion here). When I walked into Posh on Main in Bellevue I found shoe heaven. Angela Self opened the elegant shop a few months ago to reach out to us women out there in a perpetual search for GOOD SHOES. Right now Angela carries shoes from a number of designers like Miss Sixty of Capri and newcomer Courtney Crawford. She’s working on Jimmy Choo and Miu Miu, as well. These peep-toe pumps from Hollywould sell for $445.
