Baby’s Delight!

September 19th, 2007

Bebe Ravi BootiesYesterday afternoon I popped into Flora & Henri for a quick look around. If you’ve never been, it’s a beautiful luxury children’s clothing boutique. All the mini cashmere sweaters were hung perfectly on the rack, and the smaller-than-small corduroy pants were folded neatly on the shelves. Bebé tres chic! After taking my usual stroll around the perimeter I found myself reading the labels of some great sweaters, hats and booties. Bebe’ Ravi, which translates to “baby’s delight,” is hand-knitted and crocheted from the best Italian yarns. Surprisingly, its manufacturing headquarters is located in Nakuru, Kenya. They hire locals who can’t find other jobs and many women who are widows that have lost their husbands to AIDS. Bebé Ravi has also opened an orphanage to help the children of the community. It’s wonderful to see a company that’s so dedicated to such an important cause! These cute wool booties are $44.

I just got these booties and they are precious. They feel heavenly soft and are just so adorable. I feel like I am wrapping my baby in love. I love the cause — look forward to purchasing more of the Bebe Ravi items you have!
