Scrimshaw Bracelet

Wearing your heart on your sleeve is so last season. This year it’s hot to wear your thoughts on your wrist! I found this incredible bangle/conversation starter at Merge. The artist, Jessica Kagan Cushman, learned the craft of scrimshaw from her father and has transformed fossilized wooly mammoth ivory into extremely popular bracelets. Since not everyone can afford the fossilized ivory kind, she also makes them out of resin, which is what Merge carries. The bangles each have great sayings like, “Do you have any idea who I am?” and “You’re not the boss of me.” They sell for $125.
