The Proportion of Blu jeans

July 16th, 2007

DenimI read in a recent article that the average woman owns 11 pair of jeans. WOW. I own a lot fewer than that. In fact, I have a confession. I hate jeans. I absolutely LOATHE having to put denim on. It’s not comfortable and it never fits me correctly. Then I found The Proportion of Blu jeans. Both Merge in Ballard and Polite Society downtown carry them. They really do fit great! (OK, they were a bit long, but nothing my favorite seamstress couldn’t fix). Pat at Merge said that she went through her first two size runs in 9 days. Yes, they really are that good. Even I like them. They sell for $210.

[…] While that information was enlightening, all you really need to know is that these jeans have the power to make people who hate jeans love them.  While other labels sacrifice great fit for details and practicality, Proportion of Blu has mastered the best of both. This season, the label offers two specialty washes, made from Japanese denim: first, a raw, dry tumbled washed denim called “Uno”, and second, a washed denim with a resin press.
