Shop & Awe
November 28th, 2006
I don’t generally use this site as a platform to spew my opinion.. Today I’m going to. Last night my fiance and I got stuck in Seattle because of the icy roads. I’d been babysitting for our good friends while they went to the Seahawks game. Of course I dressed comfortably - yoga pants, t-shirt and pink fleece - perfect to chase around a 9 month old. We left their house at 9:30pm and made it less than 7 miles in 2 hours. We turned around and stayed at a hotel near his job. (He works in news so he’d have to be in early to cover “November Ice Blast 2006″).
Today I went shopping at Pacific Place. I had no make up on and was wearing the baby-chasing clothes from last night. The fashion gods were against me, so were many of the clerks. I was absolutely amazed at how rude people were. When I picked up a pair of designer jeans that I wanted to buy to get out of the yoga pants, the salesman turned and walked the other way. I wanted to buy a pair of shoes, made contact with the gal and she started futtzing with hangers. I felt like Ashley Judd in Double Jeopardy.
The one person to help me out of my fantastically unfashionable situation was Claudia at Forth & Towne. Thanks to her I found something to wear.
