I was not pleased with this shop. Terrible service. The owner was RUDE. I will not shop here again.

Oh my…I just loved this shop and the owner. I was there for the Greenwood Art Walk and was so impressed with the selection of products for sale that I almost forgot to check out the art. Her purses were chic and some were under $75. I found so many gifts that I would get for my girlfriends. I will go back there whenever I need a special gift for birthdays, weddings, babies and whatever.

I’m not sure Michelle Miner that made all of those positive comments about this business is REALLY remembering where she shopped. Service is 100% to me. If someone is rude, which the owner was to me several times, then I don’t support the business. She won’t be in business long, these types of businesses don’t last with bad service and will eventually selft destruct. Sorry! Too many other cool placed to shop in this town! -TR

I drop by Allusia at least twice a month to see what new items have come in, as well as dig through the terrific sale section in back. I’ve always found the people working there to be courteous and friendly, and typically end up chatting with them for at least 5 minutes before before heading out the door. Not sure what happened to make one of the previous posters so annoyed.
    * Please note that the address listed above is incorrect. They moved further north about 1/4 of a mile near Kens Market.

JT and Michelle Miner are names made up by the owner. She is posting these positive comments about her own business. I’m sorry, I had a friend visit there to see if she saw what I did and she also was treated rude. Not by the girl salesperson (she was actually nice), but the owner names Jimmy Lou Steambarge (of all names) Good luck!

Well my name is not made up, and I’ve had a good experience every time I’ve been in. I’ve found something interesting & affordable on each visit, and the recipients have loved their gifts. I haven’t met a male salesperson or owner yet, but each of the staff that I have met so far has been helpful & friendly… I’ll definitely go back there again!

edit - I didn’t realize the owner ‘Jimi’ is a woman… ignore the ‘male’ comment above. Just saying that of the 2-3 people I’ve met working there, they’ve all been a pleasure to deal with.

I am on a committee that overseas business awareness and discloser to the public of poor customer service so my JOB is to shop these shops and report on their activity. I gave y our comments some thought Doug and gave the owner the benefit of the doubt. I went back! I said I never would but I needed to give them another chance after your positive comments. Unfortunately, once again I was treated rude. I made sure the owner was there and also a few salespersons. She was not nice to a customer on the ‘phone that called while I was browsing, she was inconsiderate of a salesperson while I was browsing and she “brushed me off” when I asked a question about a pice of merchandise. I was only there 15 minutes! I gave them another chance. I report to other magazines and just happen to report on this site from time to time. I am not going there again. Rude service and ownership. SORRY! I tried!

I was just in there yesterday for the very first time. I loved everything in the store from the Voodoo-like knife holder to the crown print dishes. Sadly, the only thing I could afford in there was an overpriced pin a $1.25. There was just one girl at the counter and she greeted every customer as they came in. One woman was looking at some jewelry by the counter and the shop girl offered her a bigger mirror to look in as she tried it on. In other words, she wasn’t rude at all, though I was only there 20 minutes or so. The only problem I saw were the ridiculous prices. For instance, they have a white ceramic elephant teapot there that I’ve seen cheaper at Mrs. Cook’s and Anthropologie in U Village. If something is cheaper at Anthropologie, you know the prices at this shop are too high.

I recently visted this shop with my husband and son on a sunny weekend in Seattle; we took a walk down Greenwood to window shop.
Our experience at this store my amazing. The girl working there was nice and helpful. She even played with our son. Their selection on gifts is amazing, we spent about two hours in the store looking at everything and some things twice. I purchased an awesome purse for only $48!
I know that we will go back because I found gifts that were definitely suitable for our friends and family.
I feel bad that other people didn’t receive the same great experience that me and my family did.

I live in the neighborhood and stop by the store with my 2 year old pretty oftenas the shop is on our walking route. I’m not the owner or affiliated with the store. I’ve always received a friendly greeting and have yet to experience any rudeness. I’ve also met the owner who was pretty helpful in answering a few questions about alternative product options. No problems as of yet. Sorry you had a few bad experiences Tracy. That stinks.

I have lived in the Phinney Ridge area for 5 years and have been an Allusia customer for the last 4. I have had nothing but friendly, courteous service from both the owner and various sales people which is THE determining factor of whether or not I frequent business establishments. Great customer service combined with interesting and appealing products makes this store a place I will buy for both myself and friends for years to come.

I shop at Allusia to buy gifts for all of my girlfriends. In the last three years I have shopped at Allusia at least once per month, (even checking out the shop in Burien).

My husband buys all of my birthday and Christmas gifts at Allusia. We have always been treated with respect and good service.

One Christmas my mother-in-law sent gifts for me to my husband. While shopping for me at Allusia he mentioned to Jimmi Lou the gifts from his mother. Jimmi Lou asked him to bring the gifts to her and she would wrap them. She wrapped each (no matter how small) all in unique wrap.

I just discovered this boutique two months ago and I really love it. They have amazing things and I particularly like the purses and jewelry. This is definitely the place to shop for any special occasion and Jimmi Lou I really loved our interactions.

I shopped here recently and liked the store somewhat but seemed very overpriced. The sales person could have been the owner, I did not ask, but she was not friendly at all. Overpriced merchandise and non-friendly service…this business will not last.
